Plymouth - Banjul Challenge

The Challenge:

 to drive from Plymouth to Banjul (Gambia)

The Catch:

 Cars should cost no more than £100

The Aim:

To raise money for charitable causes—All cars that complete the rally are auctioned in Banjul with the proceeds going to West African Charities.

The year we took part, 2007, the total raised at auction was £108,888

The Car:

A 1972 VW Beetle costing £99

The Charities:

Auction proceeds are distributed between various west African charities by the board of trustees. For more information see www.plymouth-banjul.co.uk

In addition team “Getcha Motor Running” raised £2,224 for Great Ormond Street Childrens Hospital.
