I decided a Baja Beetle would be the best car for the job. Should be able to cope with the roughest terrain and has a lot of character. This is Pedro, the 1966 Baja I’ve bought for the journey. He’s rust free, has a 1776cc engine and seems pretty well set up for off-roading. NB: Stephen from charity rallies bought my Mini and intends to drive it to the Pyramids! Any offers of help/parts gratefully received. Wish List 2 Spare Wheels 6 new Off-Road tyres Sump guard Fuel filters Up-rated air filter Oil cooler A new battery and spare A new distributor with electronic ignition Spares for the journey: Wheel bearings, distributor, HT leads etc
